Arbuckle woman seriously hurt when car hits truck
An Arbuckle woman suffered major injuries early Tuesday and was airlifted to Enloe Medical Center after her car collided head-on with a tractor pulling tomatoes at the intersection of Old Highway 99W and Myers Road in Williams.
Mayra Ortega Bravo, 29, of Arbuckle, was driving her silver 2002 Honda CRV westbound about 3 a.m. on Myers Road and Humberto Hernandez, 53, of Colusa was driving a white 2011 Freightliner tractor — with two trailers full of tomatoes in tow — northbound on Old Highway 99 when the two vehicles collided, according the California Highway Patrol.
Ortego Bravo was in serious condition on Tuesday, an Enloe representative said.
When CHP officers arrived at the scene, both drivers were trapped in their vehicles, and one of the tomato trailers was overturned.
The two were extricated by fire personnel. Ortego Bravo was airlifted to Enloe, and Hernandez was taken by ambulance to Colusa Regional Medical Center for a complaint of pain. The collision was under investigation
