Assault suspect arrested again
Just four days after Charles Wesley was arrested on suspicion of felony battery causing serious bodily injury for allegedly attacking an individual he claimed had furnished his 19-year-old sister with alcohol, the Colusa man is once again behind bars after a Feb. 21 arrest — this time on suspicion of misdemeanor battery on a spouse/date/etc. and felony false imprisonment.
According to the Colusa Police Department, officers responded to a reported dispute between a man and woman at an apartment at about 2:30 a.m. at an apartment in the 1700 block of Highway 20 in Colusa.
The victim said she and Wesley got into an argument that night, and she told him to leave the residence, which Wesley refused to do, police said.
Wesley held the victim down and prevented her from leaving, according to the police. At one point, she got free and tried to flee the apartment but was pulled back by Wesley, police said.
The victim did not require medical attention, police said. She had minor injuries, which brought a charge of misdemeanor battery. That he held her down during the altercation prompted the false imprisonment charge, police said.
