Hunting opportunities available
The California Department of Fish and Game's Upland Game Bird Special Hunts Program is offering dove hunt opportunities.
Hunters who wish to hunt on properties with controlled access must apply for reservations by Aug. 8. Sixteen special dove huts are scheduled throughout California.
Dove season opens Sept. 1.

00 Band plays Thursday
"OO Band" will perform at 6 p.m. Thursday, Mardi Gras night, at the Williams Concert in the Park series in the park behind the Sacramento Valley Museum, 1491 E St., Williams.
Bike and Build Aug. 8
Bike and Build, one of many groups of college age young adults, will pass through Colusa Aug. 8.
The group is riding bicycles from South Caroline to Santa Cruz and work on homeless shelters and Habitat for Humanity projects along the way.
Dinner will be provided to the group at 5:30 p.m. by A Hand Up, the group that feeds the hungry and homeless in Colusa, as well as provides temporary shelter.
