Haunted barn at Maxwell High

The Maxwell FFA is having its annual Haunted Agriculture Barn from 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. Halloween night, Oct. 31.

The barn is located at Maxwell High School, 515 Oak Street.Admission is $3.

Spot open on commission

Colusa is taking applications for a vacancy on the Heritage Preservation Committee.

Applicants must live in the city. The deadline to submit an application is Nov. 27. The City Council is expected to make the appointment on Dec. 4.

Pumpkin event at library

The Colusa County Library's Pumpkin Decorating & StoryTime event will be held from 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Colusa branch. The event is a free and you take home the pumpkin.

Halloween blood drive set

A community blood drive will be held from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 31 at McNary-Moore Funeral Services, 107 Fifth St., Colusa.

Donors must be in generally good health and free from cold symptoms for at least 48 hours; be at least 17 years old, or 16 with parental consent; and weigh at least 110 pounds. There is no upper age limit.

Must bring photo ID.

Grimes dinner, bazaar slated

The Grimes Ladies Aid Society will hold its annual Dinner and Bazaar at 5 p.m. Nov. 3 at the Grand Island Elementary School.

The menu is an all-you-can-eat turkey or ham dinner. Tickets are $10, $5 for children 6-12 and free for children 5 or younger.

The bazaar booths, including a country store and mystery packages for all ages, begin selling at 5 p.m. And as always, a quilt will be given away.

Proceeds benefit the Grimes Community Church and the schools.

The Grimes Civic Association will host a raffle table in support of the Grimes Scout Cabin.

Cajun fundraiser Nov. 17

The Family Water Alliance, Inc. will hold its Hot Cajun Night Dinner, Auction & Raffle beginning with a no-host cocktail hour at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 17 at the American Legion Hall, 250 Oak St., Maxwell.

Prizes include a Beretta semi-automatic shotgun, "King of the Grill" barbecue and accessories; and a grand prize getaway to the Sonoma Mission Inn and Spa.

Dinner tickets are $25. For tickets or sponsorships, call 438-2026.

Faire and Gift Show set

The annual Colusa Holiday Faire & Gift Show will be held Nov. 17-18 at the Colusa County Fairgrounds, 1303 10th St., Colusa.

Parking and admission are free.
