Willows man pleads not guilty in molestation case
A Willows man is facing additional felony charges in connection with his June arrest in Butte County on suspicion of molesting a child.
Cody Burrows, 21, was arrested around 6:30 p.m. on June 18 in a parking lot on the 100 block of Eaton Road in Chico.
He pleaded not guilty on June 26 to committing lewd acts on a child.
Burrows will be arraigned Aug. 21 on additional felony charges levied July 31, including suspicion of oral copulation of a person under 16.
Burrows is out of jail after posting a $175,000 bond, but Superior Court Judge Clare Keithley is expected to rule on the District Attorney's motion to increase bail during Burrows' next court appearance.
Chico police have said little about the investigation in an effort to protect the reported victim in the case, but said the incident "came to light" on the afternoon of Burrows' arrest.
Detectives handling the investigation said the reported victim is female, but no other information about how the child came into contact with Burrows has been released.
Burrows is a 2009 graduate of Willows High School.
He was active in the Willows High School Friday Night Live program and a member of the Willows Honker Band.
