Murder-mystery dinnerhas debut on Saturday
A murder-mystery dinner, "Class of '54," starts at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Sacramento Valley Museum's auditorium.
Tickets are $50 each with limited seating. No one under 21 is allowed.
Attire from the 1950s is encouraged — letterman jackets, poodle shirts and bobbie socks.
The band Rock N. Roley will perform.
The malt shop opens at 5 p.m. and the dinner show is at 6 p.m.
The characters will be played by local people.

Learning Center to hold open house
The Colusa Indian Community Council, Hand-in-Hand Learning Center will be hosting an open house from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. Oct. 29 in honor of 10 years of early learning development and care for children.
The center is at 50 Wintun Road in Colusa.
Some of the highlights of the open house will include a "Let's Move!" child care display of activities and events held throughout the past two years, a farm to school/preschool demonstration and cooking activity, menu samples from the Hand-in-Hand kitchen, Potter the Otter and healthy drink demonstration from First 5 Colusa, Nature Extension displays, curriculum displays and information.

Fall Spaghetti Luncheonat church is Monday
The Trinity United Methodist Church in Colusa, at Fifth and Oak streets, will have its Fall Spaghetti Luncheon from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Monday.
The church will be serving spaghetti with homemade sauce, salad, bread and dessert.
Tickets are $9 per person and are available from church members, at the door and by leaving a message at 458-4589.
People can dine in at Friendship Hall or take out by a drive-through in the alley.
Water board to hold public workshop
The Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board will hold a public workshop at 1 a.m. Oct. 30 at the Colusa Indian Community Council Community Center, 3730 Highway 45 in Colusa.
There will be a set of new water quality regulations imposed on Sacramento Valley irrigated agriculture and managed wetland owners as soon as April.
The workshop will summarize the proposed new regulations and give opportunity to comment on issues of concern to Regional Board Members. Interested persons are encouraged to attend and present oral comments.

Master Gardenersseeks applications
The UC Master Gardeners of Colusa County is seeking applications for the 2014 training class.
Classes are 1 p.m.-5 p.m. Jan. 15-May 19.
The classes are in Orland, and the fee is $175.
The deadline to sign up is 5 p.m. Nov. 8.
