Try your hand at cards
The Catholic Ladies Relief Society #4 will hold their annual bridge-whist-pinochle card party and luncheon beginning at 11:30 a.m. today at St. Bernadette's Hall, 743 Ware Ave., Colusa. Firefighters' Crab Feed tonight
The Colusa Firefighters Association's annual Crab & Steak Feed Dinner and Dance is today in the main exhibition hall at the Colusa County Fairgrounds.
A no-host cocktail hour will start at 5:30 p.m. followed by the dinner at 6:30. The dance, with Northern Heat, will get under way at 9:30.
The event also includes a raffle, and an auction is slated to start at 7:30.
The cost is $40. Tickets are available at the firehouse. Proceeds go toward association activities, including a number of community events.

Book club sets next gathering
The recent release, "Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet" by Jamie Ford will be the topic of discussion the Colusa County Book Club, which will meet at 6 p.m. Mon. in the Morse Conference Room in the main library building in Colusa on Market Street.
The book club meeting is open to anyone who would like to attend and there are several copies of the book available at the library.
Refreshments will be served and the selection for the next meeting will be announced by whomever wishes to be the presenter.

Colusa County commodity distribution locations are: Maxwell, 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday at the George E. Cain Children's Center, 185 N. St.; Colusa, 9-11 a.m., Thursday Boy Scout Cabin, 901 Parkhill; Williams, 9-11 a.m., Friday, First Baptist Church, 251 Eighth St.; and Arbuckle, please call 476-0822 for times and location.
Celebrate the winter waterfowl migration
The 11th annual Snow Goose Festival will be held in Chico, Jan 28-31. Over 50 field trips and workshops ranging out to six counties will be available, celebrating the winter waterfowl migration in the North Sacramento Valley. Sacred Hear Sodality Card Party
The Sacred Heard Sodality will host their annual card party and luncheon on Feb. 6 at the Maxwell Elementary School, 146 W. North Street in Maxwell.
