Gregory Cervantes

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today with a rosary recited at 7 p.m., at McNary-Moore Chapel for Gregory "Cervo" Rex Cervantes, 57, of Colusa.

Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Colusa. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.

Cervantes, a lifelong resident of Colusa, died at Colusa Regional Medical Center on Oct. 23, 2008.

Cervantes was born in Colusa on Sept. 17, 1951. He was produce manager for Shop-N-Save for 20 years, and was a member of the Colusa Golf.

Cervantes served in the U.S. Army from 1972 to 1975, as a finance specialist.

He is survived by his life partner, Susan Walsh, of Colusa; mother, Mary Cervantes, of Colusa; daughters Shannon Cervantes, of Roseville, Anjela Cervantes, of Colusa; Jessica Cervantes, of Colusa; stepdaughters, Dawn Harris, of Greenbay, W.I., Amber Mason, of Medford, Ore, and Jennifer Bacon, of Colusa; stepson, Sean Deno, of Eureka; brothers, Raymond Cervantes, of Colusa, Robert Cervantes, of Yuba City, Anthony Cervantes of Gardnerville, Nev., and Eugene Cervantes, of Colusa; sisters, Christina Cervantes, of Colusa, and Phyllis Cervantes of Gardnerville, Nev. and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jess Cervantes.

Memorials contributions may be made to the American Heart Association 1710 Gilbreth Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.

One of the nicest guys to ever live in Colusa. The times we shared at Chef Colus I will never forget, rest in peace my friend.
