Child care help isn’t a crime

Rough and tough times have come upon many of us, not only in our region but all over the United States. It is in these times that we need to love thy neighbor more than ever and help each other out.

This is why it is so troubling to me that I received a visit today from the Department of Social Services. It appears someone filed an anonymous complaint saying my wife was running a non-licensed daycare service.

To set the record straight, my wife takes a local kindergarten child to school occasionally when necessary and picks her up in the afternoon.

The child’s grandmother used to do so, however she became ill and is no longer able to drive. My wife has volunteered to take the child to and from school as a labor of love. She has never received, nor does she expect, anything in return.

It is appalling to me that somebody could be so cold as to make false accusations against someone who is doing a service out of the kindness of their heart.

What has this world come to? Do people really not have anything to do? Could they not just come and ask if we were running a day care?

May God help us to remember to love thy neighbor as thy self.

Even though they both be nice people, it does not change the fact that sex offenders should not be living in a home where children are being cared for. And further more, as members of the Arbuckle community and as parents, we ALL have the right to voice our concerns about situations like these. Maybe he will and maybe he wont harm anothe child but are you going to take that risk? I'm not.

Thank you for that information, concerned parent. And thank you to the person who had the courage to step up for this child.

Oregon-you are right. The more government we allow, the more distant we become from eachother. I would give more to charity if I didn't have to give so much to the government.

Some people just need to start minding their own buisness, if someone has so much time that they can spy on their neighbors and turn them in for every little thing then they need to get a job or a hobby, cause if someone where to spy on them im sure you could find a reason to turn them in for something

articles like this are a prime example of why nice people stop doing nice things for others. if it had not been for nice people when my daughter was little and i was raising her on my own, i would not have made it.
