Christmas concerts scheduled
Intrumentalists and members of the Community Choir, under director, Jody Bowker, will present four programs:
Thursday, 7 p.m., Williams Parkside United Methodist Church, 936 G St., Williams.
Friday, 7 p.m., Grimes Community Church.
Sunday, 7 p.m., Arbuckle United Methodist Church, Ninth and Pendleton streets, Arbuckle.
Monday, 7 p.m., Trinity United Methodist Church, 511 Oak St., Colusa.
Gardener deadline extended
The deadline for Colusa County residents to sign up for the UC Master Gardener volunteer training program is Monday.
Classes start Jan. 15 and go through April 30. The cost is $150, which includes two UC reference books.
Individuals must pass an open-book written exam, be able to volunteer a minimum of 50 hours in activities and effectively communicate by telephone and in person.
Applications can be obtained from the UC Cooperative Extension Office at 100 Sunrise Blvd., Suite E in Colusa, or at cecolusa.ucdavis.edu.

Maxwell program is Dec. 20
Maxwell Elementary School will host its Winter Program at 7 p.m. on Dec. 20.
Children in kindergarten through sixth grade will perform, as well as the bands.
A raffle will be available as well. Tickets are $1 each or six tickets for $5.
The school is located at 146 North St.
Little League needs leaders
Williams Little League is looking for volunteers willing to serve on the board of directors. All positions — president, vice president, treasurer, secretary, field maintenance and snack bar representative — are open and must be filled to have a 2013 baseball and softball season.
The deadline to be able to get the season started is Dec. 23.

Agricultural group holding gala
Partners for the Future of Agriculture will host it second annual New Year's Eve Gala on Dec. 31 at the American Legion Hall on Oak Street in Maxwell.
Social hour starts at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30. There will be an auction and raffle following dinner and then dancing to the music of the Highway 20 Band. Louis Cairo's of Williams and Tommy's Market Street Grill of Colusa will cater the dinner.
Donations of $50 per person is being requested. Proceeds benefit the Maxwell High School Ag/Shop programs.
