Letter: Employee group backs Dunn

On behalf of the Colusa City Employees Association, we would like to extend our thanks and support of the appointment of Randy Dunn to the interim city manager position.

Our association feels that since Randy has stepped in to fill the city manager position, it has had nothing but a positive influence on the work environment at the city. Randy has worked very hard to bring the employees together and work as a team.

The association is convinced that Randy is the right person for the job. He lives in and cares for the community; he has 34 years of government experience, and has the right approach with staff. He believes that the most valuable asset the city has is the city employees.

Many of the employees are very concerned over the fact that dispite all the positive change occurring within our organization, it is being easily dismissed by the assumption that hiring a qualified city manager is the answer to all our problems. It is clear that it has not solved the city’s problems in the past. Why would it now?

The City Employees Association sincerely hopes that the City Council embraces the fact that they have an experienced, competent, veteran heading up the organization.

President, City Empoyeess Association
