Riverbend project wrong for Colusa
If the City of Colusa passes the Riverbend Project with a Mitigated Negative Declaration, is the city aware it will accept all negative aspects of this project?
We cannot even get our streets repaired and our drainage in the city under control during rain, how can they take on more issues?
If the city chooses to have an EIR prepared, at least the city would have done all it could do so far as investigating the issues addressed by higher authorities in writing, and the city then would have done the best they could for the citizens of this community. Finally.
I realize it is expensive and the matter has been passed through from the Planning Commission, but they should have made it mandatory to require the EIR. We, as citizens, do not want to have a liability like when the shopping center said they would put in the traffic signal, and then they were long gone and no signal.
Not addressing the county’s letter of recommendations is lack of due diligence, I feel as well. The County has done a draft EIR showing some of the issues in this county that need to be addressed. At least they are doing their part for this area. We need the city to step up and do their part.
Too many negative Issues with this project left unanswered, to just pass it at this time. It needs more work, but the pressure from city Officials made it impossible for the commission to accomplish this.
The treatment of this developer is also deplorable. We have, for a long time, been asking to reconcile the accounts that had all the developers fees in wrong accounts, now that lack of reconciliation is coming up to bite the city manager. ... She cannot say it was before her time. It is in the last three audits in the recommendation report they want no one to see. All need to look at the recommendations stated in the reports.
All the negatives to be brought out in the open and dealt with, and then make a good and sound decision for the good of all, not just see the dollar signs of tax base income for the city. Make it right, not a problem.
The apartments behind the shopping center have created more problems in our community that we can handle, even though the police say there are not issues. Just follow a sire and speeding cops in this town, and see where they get the calls. Open the eyes of this community and help, not create more issues.
