Briefs: Omega Nu bartends on Friday

Members of the Alpha Kappa Chapter of Omega Nu will serve and bartend at a fundraiser from 5 p.m. to close on Friday at Rocco's Bar and Grill, 546 Market St., Colusa.

The special drink of the night will be "Cupid's Kiss Martini," featuring Stoli Chocolat Razberi Vodka and Croft Pink Port.

All tips benefit the Omega Nu scholarship fund.

Directors meeting re-scheduled

The Glenn-Colusa Irrigation District board of directors has rescheduled their meeting to 9 a.m. Feb. 14 at 344 E. Laurel St., Willows.

Caregiver group meeting

A support group for caregivers of the elderly will be meet from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. Saturday in the conference room at the Colusa Regional Medical Center.

The group is designed to give caregivers in similar and often difficult situations an opportunity to talk and to share knowledge and information on resources.

Maxwell FBLA serving dinner

Maxwell FBLA will hold a pasta dinner from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. Monday at the Maxwell High School Snack Bar.

Proceeds will benefit the American Legion Colusa County's Fallen Veterans Fund and the Maxwell Cemetery fence project.

Tickets are $8 and may be purchased from a Maxwell FBLA member, and at the Colusa Indian Wellness Center.

Granzella's, Louis Cairo's, Colusa Casino Resort, and Kim's Country Deli will prepare the dinner.

Scouts flipping 'jacks

Colusa Boy Scouts Troop No. 5 is having a pancake breakfast from 7 a.m.-11 a.m. Feb. 16 at the Colusa Scout Cabin located at Ninth and Parkhill streets in Colusa.

The cost is $5 in advance and $6 at the door. Proceeds send 11 scouts to summer camp.

Dinner, dance fundraiser set

Colusa County Youth Football and Cheer will hold a crab, steak and chowder dinner and dance Feb. 16 at Roccos's Bar and Grill, 546 Market St., Colusa.

Cocktails will be served at 5 p.m., with dinner to follow at 6.

The band Highway 20 will perform.

Tickets are $45 per person and are available at Rocco's or any CCYF board member. Tickets will also be available at the door.

Must be 21 to attend.

Civil War quilts shown

The Pacific Flyway Quilters will hold a presentation at 7 p.m. Feb. 20 at the Masonic Lodge, 311 Fifth St., Colusa.

Lecturer Arlene Arnold, of Colusa, will share some of her quilts in a trunk show called "Quilts of Glory," which includes pieced and appliquéd quilts made by hand and dating between 1850-90.

The presentation is free to the public.

The Pacific Flyway Quilters Guild meets every third Wednesday.

Kindergarten registration slated

Williams Elementary School will hold its kindergarten registration Feb. 27, 1404 E St., Williams.

Children must be 5 years old on or before Oct. 1 to enroll for the fall of 2013.

A parent or guardian must be present with the child's birth certificate, a current immunization record, and proof of residency at the time of enrollment. Child must also be present.

Child must have received one varicella vaccine, two measles containing vaccines, three Hepatitis B, three polio and four DTP doses, the last of which must have been received after their fourth birthday.
