Photo exhibit slated to open

Barney Fizpatrick of Colusa will have his photos on display at a new Colusa County Arts Council show.

An open house has been scheduled for 5 p.m.-8 p.m. Monday at the Arts Council office, 430 Market St., Suite C, Colusa.

Grief support group available

McNary-Moore Funeral Services, in partnership with Sutter North Hospice, will hold grief support meetings from 5 p.m.-6 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month, beginning this Tuesday, at 107 Fifth St., Colusa.

Wine tasting event March 16

The Colusa County Arts Council is hosting an Art and Wine Tasting event from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on March 16 at the Sacramento Valley Museum, 1491 E St., Williams.

Williams Antique Show nears

The 36th annual Williams Antique Show and Sale is approaching fast.

The event will be held from 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. on March 16 and from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on March 17 at the Old Gym next to the Sacramento Valley Museum, 1491 E St., Williams.

Dutch Oven Cook-off open

Entries are now being taken for the 12th annual Colusa Western Days Dutch Oven Cook-Off at the Colusa County Fairgrounds on April 6.

There is no fee, but a $20 deposit to reserve a space is required. The deadline to enter is March 27.

Prize money totals $1,250, with a top prize of $150 in each of the three categories.

City wants business input

Colusa is asking business owners in the city to take a business needs survey in preparation for a Community Development Block Grant application.

Farm scholarship available

The Glenn Colusa Cattlewomen and Cattlemen are offering a $2,000 scholarship to students who will be entering their junior, senior or graduate years of upper division university or college in the fall.

Candidates must be graduates of high schools in Glenn or Colusa counties and are planning a career in an agriculture related field, preferably with an emphasis on beef production and/or promotion.

Nominate a senior volunteer

Nominations are being taken through March 31 for senior volunteers who dedicate at least 15 hours to their favorite causes. The Salute to Senior Service program recognizes the contributions of adults 65 or older.

Contest rules and nomination forms can be found at SalutetoSeniorService.com. Completed nomination forms also can be mailed to Salute to Senior Service, P.O. Box 285, Bellevue, NE 68005.

State winners then will be selected by popular vote at SalutetoSeniorService.com. Online voting will take place from April 15 to April 30. From those state winners, a panel of senior care experts will pick the national Salute to Senior Service honoree.
