Tailgate Food Giveaway
The North State Food Bank will be distributing food boxes with a range of farm fresh produce and other food to serve displaced families, low income families, elderly, and homeless Arbuckle from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. on Aug. 30. The Tailgate Food Giveaway will take place at the Family Action Center at 812 King Street.

Crawdad Festival soon
The eighth annual Colusa Crawdad Festival sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Council 2145 and featuring live music will be held at the Colusa County Fairgrounds from 1 p.m.-10 p.m. Sept. 7. Proceeds from the annual event support local community charities.

Avenue of the Arts scheduled
Colusa County Arts Council will be hosting Avenue of the Arts at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 14 featuring artist Noel Etchepare-Stubbelfield, a Maxwell-native. Her medium is oil and watercolor paintings. For more information call the arts council at 458-2222.
5-K mud run to benefit river
A 5K mud run to benefit River Partners in their efforts to create wildlife habitat will be held on the Sacramento River about 9 miles north of Colusa off River Road on Sept. 14.

Ecology, farm tour planned
Volunteers are invited for the second annual Coastal Clean-up in Colusa on Sept. 21. At 10 a.m., there will be a tour of Premier Mushrooms followed by a River Ecology and Nature Walk from 11:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m. The river cleanup will take place from 12:15 p.m.-2:15 p.m. A barbecue will be from 2:30-4 p.m.
This year's event is sponsored by Premier Mushrooms Inc., Steelhead Lodge Bar & Grill, Central Valley Gas Storage, Tommy's Market Street Grill, Net Impact Sacramento and California Coastal Commission.
