Community Briefs: Rotary Dinner set for Saturday in Colusa
The 24th Annual Colusa Rotary Dinner and Fundraiser will take place on Saturday in the Festival Hall of the Colusa County Fairgrounds.
The event is a fundraiser for scholarships and community projects. Cocktails start at 6:30 p.m., and the dinner and drawing begin at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are $125 per couple, and ticket numbers are limited. Contact Jim McGowan at 458-8611 for tickets.
Colusa Firefighters to host event
The Colusa Firefighters Association will host a crab and steak feed on Jan. 25 at the Colusa County Fairgrounds in the Main Exhibit Hall for ages 21 and up.
No-host cocktails start at 5 p.m., dinner begins at 6 p.m., and the dance starts at 9:30 p.m.
Tickets are $45 and can be purchased at the Colusa Fire Department (750 Market St.) or from any Colusa City firefighter. Only 400 tickets were printed, so admittance is limited. After Jan. 17 and at the door, tickets go up to $50.

2014 Winter Showcase set for Saturday
The Williams Community Center presents the winter installment of their bi-annual entertainment spectacular on Saturday, Jan. 11 at 6 p.m. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. The event is free and open to all ages. Donations are welcomed, and will be put toward "A Stage of Our Own." Currently, Williams High School loans the Williams Community Center their stage, but with many events lined up, they need their own. Winter fruit tree care workshop set
UC Master Gardeners of Colusa County and Davis Ranches are offering a workshop on how to winterize deciduous fruit trees and citrus trees on Saturday from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. at Davis Ranches, 7681 Sycamore Slough Road. 'Taste' from Knights of Columbus

Rose pruning workshop set
The University of California Master Gardeners are offering a rose pruning workshop on Jan. 26 from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. at the Colusa County Fairgraounds grandstand. Participants are asked to bring their pruners, loppers, saw and gloves. Everyone is welcome.
Little league signups set
Colusa Area Little League will hold signups for children ages 6-18 at the Egling Middle School Gym from noon- 4 p.m. on Saturday and Jan. 18, and in the Burchfield Elementary School cafeteria from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. on Jan. 22. Please be sure to bring your child's birth certificate at the time of signups.
