Community Briefs: Colusa County Scholarships offered for lactation counselor training
First 5 Colusa Children & Families Commission and Colusa County Public Health Department will be offering three partial scholarships for traning to be a certified lactation counselo, to be held in Colusa on Feb. 3-7, 8:15 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
The applicants must serve children prenatal to age 5 in Colusa County.
They must attend the full training.
Applicants will be required to pay supplemental fees of $175 to cover the costs associated with the required application, exam, and textbook fees.
The deadline for the application is 4 p.m. Thursday. Applications can be returned to First 5 in Colusa at 217 Ninth St., Suite B, in Colusa, or a scanned copy can be sent to email@example.com.

Arts Commission seeks input for community art project
Virginia Yerxa Community Read Day has asked the Colusa County Arts Council for an art project that will involve the community, and the CCAC is asking the community for input.
Those interested in helping the committee or with the project are asked to contact the arts council.
Community Theatre to host band
The California Music Educators Association Northern California Junior High Honor Band and Select Choir Festival will be held in the Community Theatre in Colusa on Friday and Saturday.
The group will be playing a concert there at 4 p.m. Saturday.
Community Eagles hold gun raffle
Princeton Community Eagles' 10th annual gun raffle is underway.
A Browning Maxus Camo 12-gauge automatic shotgun, a Savage .17 HMR Rifle and many more items will be raffled off at the annual Princeton Fire Department dinner at 6 p.m. on Saturday at the Princeton Portuguese Hall.
Tickets for the raffle may be purchased for $10 by calling Greg or Linda Hansen at 439-2475. Winners do not need to be present at the dinner.
