Community Briefs: Landowners meeting at Maxwell Inn
The Sacramento Valley Landowners Association will be holding its annual dinner meeting on Thursday, Feb. 27, at 5:30 p.m. at the Maxwell Inn, 81 Oak St., Maxwell. Indian Taco Feed and Raffle planned for March 8
The fifth annual Indian Valley Fire Association Taco Feed and Raffle will be held at Stonyford Town Hall on Saturday, March 8, from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. They will be serving up Indian tacos, cookies and punch and coffee. Deliveries will start at 4 p.m.; the raffle will start at 6 p.m. Pre-sale tickets are available for $7; at the door, they will be $8. All proceeds from the event go to support the firefighting and lifesaving activities of the Bear Valley-Indian Valley Fire Protection District. For more information, call Allen at 963-3729
Adoption specialist to lead workshop
A specialist from California Adoption Services will give a presentation on adoption procedures at a workshop frim 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Morse Conference Room at Colusa County Library.
The specialist will explain how potential families are assessed and how placement works. Written information will also be available.

Theatre to screen 'tick ...' on Sunday
The Colusa Theatre will be showing the classic movie (filmed in Colusa) "tick... tick... tick..." at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday in an effort to continue to raise funds for Colusa Theatre's conversion to a digital projector. A raffle will also be held at the event.
Tickets are $1 and are available at Riverside Lanes or at the theater door upon arrival.
