Colusa action group to hold meeting

Colusa County Committee board of directors of Colusa-Glenn-Trinity Community Action Partnership meets 10 a.m. today at Colusa County Courthouse, 547 Market St., Suite 108, Colusa.


Proposed gas storage information at meeting

Central Valley Gas Storage open meetings are 6 p.m. today at Princeton High School and Thursday at Maxwell Inn, 81 Oak St. Information will be provided about the proposed natural gas storage facility to be built near Princeton.


Park series includes barbecues, concerts

A barbecues and concerts in the park series begins at 5 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Park, 10th and Market streets, Colusa. It runs every other Thursday until September. First week: Skyliners play swing and big band music and Colusa Rotary cooks. Details: 458-5622 ext. 101.


Dinner to help child with medical care

A spaghetti dinner and silent auction will be  at 6 p.m. Friday at Charity Baptist Church, 2150 Wescot Road, Colusa. The event will raise money to help a little girl with Russell Silver Syndrome receive medical care back east. Tickets are available at the door: $5 for adults; $3, children. Details: 473-3369. 


Red Cross to prepare for emergency

Introduction to the Red Cross begins at 9:30 a.m. Friday through the weekend at Williams Family Action Center, 901 E St., Williams. Event includes personal emergency preparedness and some first aid training. Details: 673-1460.

Colusa ‘Teen Night’ entertains for summer

A Teen Night program from 6 to 8 p.m. Fridays at the Colusa swimming pool, 933 Parkhill St., is open to ages 13 and older. Cost is $1. Sponsored by Colusa Parks and Community Services Department. Details: 458-5622, ext. 109.


Local country-singing competition opens

Louis Cairo’s restaurant country open-mic auditions for 103.1 FM are from 8 to 10 p.m. today at 558 Seventh St., Williams. Details: 473-5927.


Swim lessons offered for Colusa youth

Red Cross swim lessons are 10 a.m. to noon, half an hour each, Monday through June 26 and July 13 through 24 at Colusa City Swimming Pool, 933 Parkhill St. Sign up at City Hall, 425 Webster St., Colusa. Golf pro gives tips at course open house

Arbuckle Golf Club’s open house is noon to 3 p.m. Sunday. Free instructional clinics by golf professional Mike Davis. Details: 476-2470. 


Summer Bible school offered for local youth

Vacation Bible school is 9 to 11:45 a.m. Sunday to June 19 at Colusa Assembly of God, 1747 Highway 20, Colusa. The theme is “Crocodile Dock, Where Fearless Kids Shine God’s Light.” Kindergarten to sixth grade. Details: 458-2585.


‘Golf’ tournament open to players

A two-month tournament for the card game Golf is 1 p.m. June 17 at the Williams Veterans Building, corner of Ninth and C streets. Inexperienced players welcome. Easy game to learn as you play. Prizes for top three players and lowest score. Details: 473-5956.


Junior lifesaving class available for 8 and up

Junior lifesaving classes for ages 8 and older are 10 a.m. to noon June 18 and 19 and 8 a.m. to noon June 20 at the Colusa Swimming Pool, 933 Parkhill St. Sign-up at City Hall, 425 Webster St. Cost is $50 for Colusa residents, $58 for non-residents. Details: 458-5622 ext. 107 or 109.


Citizen info meeting on future power lines

Citizens’ information meeting on TANC and WAPA is 6 p.m. June 24 at Maxwell Inn, 81 Oak St., regarding power transmission lines construction in Colusa and Glenn County. Details: 438-2026.


Evening of Christian fellowship planned

“Fire and Ice” is 7:30 p.m. June 27 at Balfour Park, 10th and Hall streets, Arbuckle. The evening of Christian fellowship includes Poppy the Clown, music, children’s activities and food. Bring own chair or blanket. Details: 476-2515.

Williams games, movie presented monthly

The Williams Community Center Association game day is from 1 to 4 p.m. the third Wednesday of the month. Movie day is at 1 p.m. the fourth Wednesday, both at Williams Veterans Hall.
