Applicants sought for planning board

The city of Colusa is accepting applications for the Planning Commission, which serves in an advisory capacity to the City Council. Applications can be obtained at City Hall, 425 Webster St., Colusa. Application deadline is 5 p.m. Friday. Appointments will be made at the July 7 council meeting.


Colusa grief support offered monthly

McNary-Moore Funeral Service of Colusa sponsors a free grief support group at 7 p.m. the first Monday of each month at Trinity United Methodist Church, 511 Oak St., Colusa. Details: 458-2111.


Registration continues for Colusa area soccer

Youth Soccer sign-ups are still being accepted for the Colusa County area. Children must be 4 years old by Aug. 1. Details: 458-8538 or www.yubasuttersoccer.com.


Evening of Christian fellowship planned

The Fire and Ice Christian fellowship event is at 7:30 p.m. today at Balfour Park, 10th and Hall streets, Arbuckle. Poppy the Clown, music, children’s activities and food. Bring own chair or blanket. Details: 476-2515.


Summer Bible school offered for local youth

Vacation Bible school is 10 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday at Trinity United Methodist Church, 511 Oak St., Colusa for children entering second-sixth grades. This year’s theme is “Character Matters.” Details: 458-4814 or 458-3179.


Community  garden for personal use

The Healthy Living Inc. community organic garden has space available at the Colusa Tennis and Swim Club. Plots are 12 square feet and 30 square feet. Details: 458-8284 or ourclub@frontiernet.net.


Independence Day brings big event

Colusa County Fourth of July celebration starts with a rubber duck race at 2 p.m., children’s activities and street booths open at 3 p.m., and fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m. near Sacramento River Recreation Park, 10th and Main streets, Colusa. Details: 701-1541.

Arbuckle ribbon cutting for group

Arbuckle Revitalization Committee and Farmers Market ribbon cutting is at 5 p.m. July 8, 309 Fifth St., Arbuckle. Details: 459-5525.

Summer market keeps produce fresh

The Arbuckle Certified Farmers Market is held every Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at LaVanche Hursh Community Park in downtown Arbuckle. Barbecue dinner served.


Seniors play games weekly on Wednesday

Seniors are invited to join the Colusa Parks and Community Service Department’s senior game day at 1 p.m. Wednesdays at City Hall, 425 Webster St., Room 2. Details: 458-5622, ext. 109, or  www.cityofcolusa.com.


Williams games, movie offered monthly

The Williams Community Center Association game day is from 1 to 4 p.m. the third Wednesday of the month. Movie day is at 1 p.m. the fourth Wednesday at Williams Veterans Hall.
