Swing for Life tees off Friday
Colusa Regional Medical Center will host its 18th annual "Swing for Life" golf tournament on Friday. Proceeds are used toward recruitment of a specialty physician. The tournament is a scramble, with hors d'oeuvres and raffle following. Details: 237-7765, 682-9795 or 713-5288.
PTO rummage sale benefits school

Farmers Market to wind down in Colusa

Flu shots available to public
Seasonal flu shots available will be available to the public from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday at Colusa County Fairgrounds. This is a drive-thru clinic. Seasonal influenza shots are to senior citizens, high risk and general public at no cost. H1N1 vaccinations will be scheduled for a later date. Details: Colusa County Health Department at 458-0380. Safe Haven to perform for youth
Safe Haven will give a free performance 7 p.m. Oct. 1 at New Life Christian Center, 218 8th Street, Williams. Doors will open at 6:40 p.m. Safe Haven is from Chandler, Arizona and will be performing at the Rock of Ages Festival on Oct. 3 in Calistoga. Free job training for a career in health care
Free training is now available online to adults and high school students in the Colusa area. The first class, the Medical Careers Exploratory Course, starts Oct. 1. It covers the basics of health care and prepares students for more advanced courses. Space is limited. Register online at www.sacrop.org.
Rummage sale to fund charitable events
Omega Nu will hold a rummage sale fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 4, at the Sacramento River Fire Station, 235 Market St., Colusa.
Firefighters host family fun event
The Colusa Firefighters Association Demolition Derby will be held at 7 p.m. Oct. 17, at the Colusa Fairgrounds. Gates open at 5 p.m. Admission is $15 adult $7 child. Tickets are available at 750 Market St. in Colusa. Details: 458-7721.
Crafters kick off holiday season in Arbuckle
The 7th annual Holiday Crafter's Showplace will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 10 at the Arbuckle Methodist Church, 9th and Pendleton Streets. New and seasoned vendors to participate. Lunch available.
Walk for life, breast cancer awareness
The third annual Breast Cancer Fund Walk will begin at 10 a.m. Oct. 10 from Memorial Park, Market St. and 10th, in Colusa. Sign-up begins at 9 a.m. Entertainment and fun immediately following. Walk is free, but donations are accepted. Details: 458-2111.
Rummage sale benefits church
The Church of the Annunciation in Williams will host its annul rummage sale from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 1 and Oct. 2 and from 8:30 a.m. until noon on Oct. 3, at the Williams Veterans Hall, Ninth and C Streets, Williams.
Mature drivers can brush up skills
The City of Colusa Parks and Community Services Department will offer the Mature Drivers Class, from 8:15 to 4:45 p.m., Oct. 24, in the conference room at City Hall, 425 Webster Street in Colusa, with an hour break for lunch. Cost is $15. People completing the class are eligible to receive a discount up to 15% on their auto insurance. This Certificate is valid for three years. Space is limited to 20 participants. Car show, barbecue helps revitalize Arbuckle
The annual Arbuckle Revitalization Committee car show and depot barbecue will be held Oct. 25 in downtown Arbuckle. Biggest event of the year. Lots of cars, vendors, entertainment and food.
Yoga and meditation class offered
