What do you enjoy most about your job? Looking up the history for the people around here. I learn as much as they do.

What do you least enjoy about your job? I need a assistant — but I can't afford to pay one — because you want to be in two places at the same time and you can't be.

If you could do anything else, what would it be and why? If it wasn't here in Colusa, I would be a harbor master somewhere, driving small boats.

What is the best thing about the area? A lot of elbow room, not like the big cities where you bump into everyone, and everyone is breathing down your neck. I hated that when I was in the service. And the people here are nice.

What would you like to change about the area? I would like to see more businesses in the area, and more emphasis on historic preservation.

Whom do you admire most and why? I admire my dad. He's a World War II veteran and is only one of two left in his town. He just turned 87 (on Monday). And I would have to say a person I admire is Martin Luther King.

If you could travel back in time, when and where would you go, and why? I would probably like to go back to see George Washington at his first inauguration. I would have liked to have seen what it was like then.
