Community Briefs: Burchfield pre-registration this week
If your child turns 5 between Nov. 2 and Dec. 2, there is potential for a transitional program. Please attend registration for more information.
Registration will take approximately 15 minutes. A short kindergarten readiness survey will be given. Health information will be recorded for the school nurse. By state law, proof of immunizations for polio, DPT, MMR, hepatitis B and varicella are required. An original birth certificate also must be presented.

Groundwater meeting slated
The Colusa County Groundwater Management Commission will hold a public meeting at 1:30 p.m. March 15 at the Colusa County Courthouse, 547 Market St., Suite 102B, Colusa.

Williams kindergarten sign-ups March 28
Williams Elementary School will hold its kindergarten registration on March 28. Children must be five years old on or before Nov. 1, 2012.
Please bring child, birth certificate, current immunization record and proof of residency.

Cattlemen scholarships offered
The Glenn Colusa Cattlewomen and Cattlemen are offering a scholarship in the amount of $200,000 to students who will be entering their junior, senior or graduate years of upper division university or college in the fall of 2012, preferably with an emphasis on beef production and/or promotion.
Candidates must be graduates of a Glenn or Colusa county high school.
