Harvest under the stars

The Foor Foundation and the Northern California Regional Land Trust is holding Harvest Dinner Under the Stars at 5 p.m. Oct. 6, at the historic Llano Seco Rancho in Chico.

Cost is $80 non-members, $60 members, and includes a ranch tour, wine tasting, silent auction and dinner.

Republicans hosting movie

The Colusa County Republican Party will host a movie night at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Colusa Theater, 513 Market St., Colusa.

A short video comprised of patriotic songs and highlights of great speeches will be shown, and food and drinks will be served.

US Rep. Wally Herger, R-Chico, former state Sen. Doug LaMalfa, who resigned Friday and announced his intentions to seek the Congressional seat being vacated by the retiring Herger, Assemblyman Dan Logue, R-Loma Rica, Assemblyman Jim Nielsen, R-Gerber, Colusa County Supervisor Kim Vann, a candidate for the 3rd Congressional District, and Assembly candidate John Munn are scheduled to attend.

YES walk on Saturday

The third annual Eleanor Azevedo Memorial YES Recovery Walk to support those recovering from substance abuse is set for Saturday

Sponsored by YES, the starting line is Davison Park under the pavilion at the corner of 10th and Webster streets in Colusa.

Registration is at 10 a.m. The cost is $10, with children under 10 free. This is a non-competitive walk.

A hot dog barbecue and raffle will be provided after the walk. Raffle donations are welcomed.

Crawdad festival is Saturday

The annual Colusa Crawdad Festival, sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Council 2145, is set for 1 p.m.-10 p.m. Saturday at the Colusa County Fairgrounds, 1303 10th St., Colusa.

Admission is $10 for adults and includes family fun, live music and dancing, food, wine, and arts and crafts. Children under 10 are free.

Parking is free.

Grasslands workshop planned

A three-day workshop on "Improving Grassland Health and Profitability" is being offered Sept. 25-27 at the Ridgewood Ranch in Willits.

The cost is $150 for all three days, and $90 for students with identification. Registration deadline is Sept. 15.

The event is co-sponsored by the California Native Grasslands Association, the Natural Resource Conservation District, Mendocino County Farm Bureau and the Mendocino County Resource Conservation District.
