Crafts Expo in Colusa today
The third annual Colusa County "Make It and Take It" Craft Expo is scheduled for 9 a.m.-3 p.m. today in Festival Hall at the Colusa County Fairgrounds.
There will be projects to do for all ages, ranging from 50 cents to $10, and all projects are provided at cost. Some of the projects scheduled are spin-art T-shirts, scrapbook cards and frames, candles, Christmas ornaments and decorations, coaster, magnets and jewelry — 18 projects in all.
The event is open to the public.
If interested in helping or donating craft items, call the 4-H office at 458-0570 or Dawn Brown at 438-2396. This event is sponsored by the Colusa County 4-H Council and 4-H leaders.
Grimes dinner, bazaar today
The Grimes Ladies Aid Society will hold its annual Dinner and Bazaar at 5 p.m. today at Grand Island Elementary School.
The menu is an all-you-can-eat turkey or ham dinner. Tickets are $10, $5 for children 6-12 and free for children 5 or younger.
The bazaar booths, including a country store and mystery packages for all ages, begin selling at 5 p.m. And, as always, a quilt will be given away.
Proceeds benefit the Grimes Community Church and the schools. The Grimes Civic Association will host a raffle table in support of the Grimes Scout Cabin.

Sacred Heart bazaar Sunday
The Maxwell Sacred Heart Parish annual bazaar and dinner will be held from 4:30-7 p.m. Sunday at the Maxwell Legion Hall, 258 W. Oak St., Maxwell.
Meal includes a turkey dinner with all of the trimmings. Take-out available.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $4 for children 4-10 and free for children 3 and under.
There will also be a raffle, silent auction, country store, paddle wheel and games for children.

Two ceramics classes available
Peter Adams will teach a ceramics class at 10 a.m. Nov. 10 and Nov. 24 at the Colusa County Arts Council, 430 Market St., Suite C, Colusa.
The cost is $30 per class, with a one-time materials fee of $7.

Cajun dinner fundraiser Nov. 17
The Family Water Alliance will hold its Hot Cajun Night Dinner, Auction & Raffle beginning with a no-host cocktail hour at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 17 at the American Legion Hall, 250 Oak St., Maxwell.
Prizes include a Beretta semi-automatic shotgun; "King of the Grill" barbecue and accessories; and a grand prize getaway to the Sonoma Mission Inn and Spa.

Safe Haven sets Open House
The Safe Haven Drop-In Center will host a Holiday Open House from 2-4 p.m. Nov. 28.
The center is located at 131 Fifth St. It will be open for refreshments and tours.
An Angel Tree will be in place from which visitors can take a paper ornament and then help support the need that it represents.

Pheasant dinner on Nov. 10
Our Lady of Lourdes parish will host its annual Pheasant Festival, Dinner and Bazaar, from 4 p.m.-9 p.m. Nov. 10 at the Colusa County Fairgrounds.
Dinner includes tri-tip, mashed potatoes, gravy, salad, vegetable, bread and beverage. Adults $14; children 10 and under $7.
A silent auction, country store, door prizes and more will be held. Tickets are available at Our Lady of Lourdes School or parish office.

Christmas tree permits available
Christmas tree permits are available from the Mendocino National Forest for the 2012 holiday season. Permits are $10 per tree and are available through Forest Service offices through Dec. 22 or area vendors.
