Briefs: Dinner to help those in need

A Hand Up, the organization that feeds the hungry and the homeless in Colusa, is hosting a Thanksgiving Day dinner at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, at the Colusa Presbyterian Church at Fourth and Jay streets in Colusa.

Anyone is welcome.

Spot open on commission

Colusa is taking applications for a vacancy on the Heritage Preservation Committee.

Applicants must live in the city. The deadline to submit an application is Tuesday. The City Council is expected to make the appointment on Dec. 4

Center schedules open house

The Safe Haven Drop-In Center will host a Holiday Open House from 2-4 p.m. on Nov. 28.

The center is located at 131 Fifth St. It will be open for refreshments and tours.

An Angel Tree will be in place from which visitors can take a paper ornament and then help support the need that it represents.
