Colusa’s adults exhibit racism
Friday, Sep 5 2008, 10:41 am
As a proud African-American and military veteran, I was shocked at the (Colusa County) State Fair exhibit depicting a watermelon seed. I have seen such caricatures when traveling south of the Mason-Dixon line in antique shops selling “Pickaninny Memorabilia.” The worst part was reading that county officials said that the poor youths who draw the offensive art “did not know better.” OK – but how about the adults running Colusa County. Did you know better or did you just did not care?

| thats exactly it, the county of colusa doesn't care, because it the year 2008, not 1963. Your making such a big deal over something small just to cause a stir. |

| Would you be angry over a bean display? That could be interpreted, in your mind, as anti hispanic. Kiwis might upset the new zealand crowd, limes might upset the british etc. |
