Mary Comfort

A memorial graveside service is scheduled for Mary Lou Comfort of Colusa for today at 11 a.m. at Glen Oaks Memorial Park in Chico. Following the graveside service, a reception will be held at 416 Brett Court in Chico.

Mary, 74, passed away Aug. 15, 2008, in Colusa. She was born on March 6, 1934, in Paradise. She married Leland Comfort on July 20, 1952, in Reno, Nev. They renewed their vows on July 19, 2008, at Black Butte Lake. Mary was an active member of the Chico Gleaners and enjoyed sewing and gardening.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Leland Comfort; daughters, Dorothy Townsend, Diana Comfort, Linda Wolf and Julie Pick-Comfort; 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren and many foster children.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Chico Gleaners in care of the Bidwell Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Bidwell Chapel in Chico.
