Halloween blood drive today

A community blood drive will be from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. today at McNary-Moore Funeral Services, 107 Fifth St., Colusa.

Donors must be in generally good health and free from cold symptoms for at least 48 hours; be at least 17 years old, or 16 with parental consent; and weigh at least 110 pounds. There is no upper age limit.

Must bring photo ID.

Drive-thru flu shots available

Colusa County Public Health is holding a drive-thru flu clinic from 1 p.m.-5 p.m. Thursday at the Colusa County Fairgrounds.

The clinic will be held rain or shine.

Nearly 1,000 county residents received shots last year.

Haunted barn at Maxwell High

The Maxwell FFA is having its annual Haunted Agriculture Barn from 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. today.

The barn is located at Maxwell High School, 515 Oak Street.Admission is $3.

Pheasant dinner is Nov. 10

Our Lady of Lourdes parish will host its annual Pheasant Festival, Dinner and Bazaar, from 4 p.m.-9 p.m. Nov. 10 at the Colusa County Fairgrounds.

Dinner includes tri-tip, mashed potatoes, gravy, salad, vegetable, bread and beverage. Adults $14; children 10 and under $7.

A silent auction, country store, door prizes and more will be held. Tickets are available at Our Lady of Lourdes school or parish office.

Theme for 2013 fair set

The Colusa County fair board has selected Crops, Crafts, & Critters as the theme for the 2013 fair, which will be June 6-9.

It is a fun and comprehensive theme, one that will provide the imagination with lots of opportunity, the board stated in a release.

Craft Faire nearing

The Colusa Holiday Craft Faire & Gift Show will be 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 17-18 at the Colusa County Fairgrounds.

Parking and admission are free.

The event, which has been held for more than 25 years, will showcase more than 130 vendors, and will include an entertainment area where local bands, dance troupes and choirs are set to perform.

There are one-hour performance times still available on both days. Vendor spaces also are available.

The faire is being managed this year by Don and Carolan Meek, the former county Fair Chief Executive Officer.
