David Dahlstrom
David Kling Dahlstrom of Colusa passed away on June 10, 2008, at Fremont Medical Center in Yuba City, Calif., at the age of 73. He was born Feb. 23, 1935, in Sacramento.
He grew up and spent his life in Arbuckle, Williams and Colusa. David was the only child of Kling and Joan Dahlstrom. He served in the U.S. Army for two terms of duty from 1959-1964. He also worked 23 years for Colusa County Road Department in the Mechanical Service Department. He was an employee and volunteer for 20 years with the Arbuckle Fire Department.
David was an avid hunter; he enjoyed fishing in Fort Bragg, camping and horseshoe competitions. But, most important to him was the time with family and friends. David treasured his grandchildren. He was also an avid volunteer and cook at the Arbuckle Fire Hall Feeds, as well as the Veterans Hall in Colusa.
David knew many and was loved by all who knew him.
He was survived by sons Matthew and Michael, both of Yuba City; daughter Melissa Boelman of Woodland, six granddaughters; and four grandsons.
The family requests that donations be made to the Arbuckle Volunteer Fire Department Fund, P.O. Box 727, Arbuckle, CA 95912.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at McNary-Moore Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Arbuckle Cemetery.
