Wedding: Roper-Carabajal

On May 19, 2007, at our Lady of Lourdes Church in Colusa, Dawne Roper and Daniel Carabajal were wed. Retired pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic (Maxwell). Father Myles officiated. About 180 guests attend followed by a reception and dinner.

Dawne is the daughter of Jean and Stan Roper. She is the youngest of 5 children, Craig, Mark, Lee, Scott, and Dawne. A 1998 graduate of Maxwell High School and a graduate of Yuba City. She is currently working for UC Davis Equine Center in Davis, and is attending college at night pursuing a degree as a commercial helicopter pilot.

Daniel was born and raised in Bakersfield, Calif. His parents are Steve Carabajal and Maria Choate of Bakersfield. He has three siblings Amanda, Corey and Cody. Daniel is a graduate of Bakersfield High School. Upon graduation he had a variety of jobs then started his own horse transport business. That is how he and Dawne met. He would bring horses to the center. He joined the Marine Corp. about 1-½ years ago. He was stationed in Japan and is temporarily stationed at 29 Palms, Calif.

For now the couple have to live apart pursuing their careers. Once Dawne has completed her training they hope to be able to set up a home.
