Photo show at Arts Council
Sue Graue and Sharon Barker will present a photo show from noon-5:30 p.m. Sunday in the Colusa Arts Council building, 430 Market St., in Colusa.
They will be showing and selling nature and wildlife photos, cards and calendars. The Arts Council office will be open and there will be refreshments.
New council to be sworn in
Colusa Councilman Kirk Kelleher will take his oath of office for the second time, and newcomers Marilyn Acree and Greg Ponciano will be sworn onto the council on Tuesday night.
City Clerk Shelly Kittle and new Treasurer Robin Rausch also will take their oaths.
The council is then scheduled to select a new mayor and vice mayor, as well as make new committee assignments.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
Food distribution scheduled
The Community Action Agency of Butte County Inc's. Surplus Government Commodities distribution will take place at the following locations:

Senior Canteen meets Dec. 7
The Senior Adult Canteen will meet at noon on Friday in the social hall of the Methodist Church at the corner of Fifth and Oak streets in Colusa.
Spaghetti is on the menu, but seniors need to bring a salad, a desert or side dish and $2.
The group's Christmas luncheon will be served on Dec. 21.
UC gardener deadline extended
The deadline for Colusa County residents to sign up for the UC Master Gardener volunteer training program has been extended to Dec. 17.
Classes start Jan. 15 and go through April 30. The cost is $150, which includes two UC reference books.
Individuals must pass an open-book written exam, be able to volunteer a minimum of 50 hours in activities. and effectively communicate by telephone and in person.
Applications can be obtained from the UC Cooperative Extension at 100 Sunrise Blvd., Suite E, Colusa, or at cecolusa.ucdavis.edu.

Agriculture group holding gala
Partners for the Future of Agriculture will host it second annual New Year's Eve Gala on Dec. 31 at the American Legion Hall on Oak Street in Maxwell.
Social hour starts at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m.. There will be an auction and raffle following dinner and then dancing to the music of the Highway 20 Band. Louis Cairo's of Williams and Tommy's Market Street Grill of Colusa will cater the dinner.
Donations of $50 per person are requested. Proceeds benefit the Maxwell High School Ag/Shop programs.
