Independence Day brings big event
Colusa County Fourth of July celebration starts with a rubber duck race at 2 p.m. today. Children’s activities and street booths open at 3 p.m., and fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m. near Sacramento River Recreation Park, 10th and Main streets, Colusa. Details: 701-1541.

Colusa to host summer concert in the park ­­
Colusa Parks and Community Services Department will host a concert in the park at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Second Wind will be the featured band, playing old-school rock and roll, funk and soul. Colusa Rotary Club will be providing barbecued hamburgers and hot-dogs. Concert in the park is held every other Thursday in Memorial Park, at Ninth and Market streets, Colusa.

Rugby team inducted into hall of fame
The seventh annual Colusa County Hall of Fame banquet will be held July 11 to induct the 1982 Colusa County Farmers Rugby Team. Cocktails, 6 p.m.; dinner, 7 p.m. Details: 458-8754. 

Swimming lessons offered to youth
Red Cross swim lessons are from 10 a.m. to noon, half an hour for each age group, July 13 through 24 at the Colusa swimming pool, 933 Parkhill St. Sign up at City Hall, 425 Webster St. Cost is $35 for Colusa residents. Details: 458-5622 ext. 107 or ext. 109.

Church fundraiser dishes up taco salad
Trinity United Methodist Church will host a taco salad luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 20 in Friendship Hall, located at Fifth and Oak streets. Cost is $8 a plate. Take out or dine in.  Tickets available from any church member or at the door. Details: 458-4589.

Wrestling camp to be held at Colusa High
A three-day wrestling camp will be held 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 20-23, for beginning and intermediate wrestlers, age 10 through high school, at Colusa High School, 901 Colus Ave. Details: 458-4182 or 682-6731.

Colusa grief support offered monthly
McNary-Moore Funeral Service of Colusa sponsors a free grief support group at 7 p.m. the first Monday of each month at Trinity United Methodist Church, 511 Oak St., Colusa. Details: 458-2111.

The Williams Community Center Association game day is from 1 to 4 p.m. the third Wednesday of the month. Movie day is at 1 p.m. the fourth Wednesday at Williams Veterans Hall.
