It could be the Christmas event of your dreams.
Organizers for Christmas Tyme in Colusa are asking for the public's imagination for input on the theme of this year's event.
"This year, we thought it would be fun to have the community make suggestions and whoever the winner is, will get a $100 gift card to Chung Sun Market," said Colusa Councilwoman Marilyn Acree, who is organizing the event as a volunteer.
The event will be Dec. 6 and coordinators are planning to have a petting zoo, tractor decorating contest, vendors and more, said Acree.
Nine businesses in town have a brightly colored box and entry forms in English and Spanish for theme suggestions. All submissions are due by Sept. 20, Acree said.
The theme will be reflected in the way people decorate their windows and tractors, as well as the marketing for the event, Acree said.
The theme last year was "Winter Agriland" and before that, for two years, the theme was "Home Town Christmas."
Acree said organizers are hoping for a theme that reflects the community and atmosphere in Colusa.
She agreed to head the event last year when the city was looking for somebody to take over the organizing.
"The community just came out in droves last year," she said.
Last year, the event returned to Market Street after being held around the Colusa County Courthouse and hosted by a consultant.
"It wasn't very successful, so we moved it back to Market," Acree said. "The event had always been on Market Street for years."
This year, the city has agreed to pay the insurance and will allocate up to $5,000 toward staff time.
Other expenses will be covered by sponsors through the Christmas Tyme 501(c)(3) through the Colusa Community Foundation.
