Fundraisers for Hillis family

Three fundraisers to help the family of Jordan Hillis have been scheduled today and into next week.

The Highway 20 band will perform a benefit concert today from 6:30-10 p.m. at the Colusa Theatre at Fifth and Market streets in Colusa.

The cost is $10, $5 for students, but all donations will be accepted.

A spaghetti feed and silent auction will be held from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Steelhead Lodge Bar & Grill at 3249 Butte Slough Road, along the river.

Additionally, the servers at the Granzella's sports bar will be donating all their tips made from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. on Wednesday. Granzella's is at 451 Sixth Street in Williams.

Hillis was killed in a car accident on Sept. 21.

Zumba party set for Williams

The City of Williams will host a Zumba party at 6 p.m. Oct. 26 to support the fight against breast cancer.

Admission is $5. All proceeds will be donated to the Colusa County Breast Cancer Fund.

Zumba instructor Venesa Perez will be raffling Zumba T-shirts, belts and other accessories.

Zumba in the month of October will be held from 6-7 p.m. every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday Oct. 1-18, 26, 29 and 30 at the Williams Junior High Multipurpose Room, 260 11th St. The cost is $25.

Woman's Friend benefit Oct. 20

A Woman's Friend Pregnancy Resource Clinic will hold its 25th annual Fall Benefit Banquet from 6:30-9 p.m. Oct. 20 in the Yuba City Toyota Hall at the Yuba Sutter Fairgrounds, 442 Franklin Ave.

Seats are $30, or $300 for a table of 10.

Knights set card party/luncheon

The Knights of Columbus are hosting a card party and luncheon on Oct. 27 in the parish hall of Holy Cross Church in Arbuckle.

The event starts at 11:30 a.m. Whist, bridge and pinochle will be played. The cost is $15.

The church is at 608 Laurel St.

Reservations are requested by Oct. 20. Call Gabriella Rone at 458-8514.

'Murder-mystery' slated Oct. 27

A murder-mystery dinner, "The Good, the Bad & the Guilty," is scheduled for Oct. 27 at the Sacramento Valley Museum Auditorium, 1491 E St., Williams.

The saloon will open at 6 p.m., with dinner and show beginning at 7.

Tickets are $40 each and seating is limited.
