Gayla Fayrene Duffey

Gayla Fayrene Duffey was born May 29, 1948, in Santa Cruz, Calif. She passed away April 14, 2008, at her residence in Colusa, Calif.

Gayla resided in Colusa County for 25 years. She was the Manager and Care Taker of Cortina Land & Cattle Club for the last 10 years. She attended Lodi Beauty College. Gayla enjoyed gardening, working with her flowers, listening to oldies and country music, singing with her husband, hunting, fishing, camping, most of all spending time with her grandchildren.

Gayla is remembered as always helping the needy, being very happy spiritually, loving, giving, kind and softspoken. She was an old fashioned mom, yet the neighborhood mom, in which everybody called her Mom.  She was the All American Mom and her husband’s inspiration. She will be missed as an awesome mom, friend and neighbor.

She was survived by her husband, Richard Duffey of Colusa, CA Married 22 years. Sons, Daniel Goff of Stockton, CA, Wesley Goff of Stockton, CA and Howard Goff of Stockton, CA; sisters, Jeanette Barkley of Phoenix, Arizona, Joyce Immerhouser of Ventura, CA, Wanda Marion of Bethel Island, CA; brothers, Chuck Dodson of Grass Valley, CA, Iley Dodson of Hamilton, Montana, Wiley Dodson of Woodland, CA; 17 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceeded in death by her parents Wiley and Violet Dodson, and her brother Jay Woods.

A memorial service will be held Monday, April 21 beginning 11 a.m. at her residence. 3504 San Jose Road, Colusa 95932. Officiating will be Pastor Danny Randall of Zion Christian Fellowship in Lodi, CA. Memorial contributions may be made in Gayla’s name to Shriner’s hospital 2425 Stockton Blvd. Sacramento, CA 9581
