Golfers raise money for school trip
Forty-eight people hit the links at Colusa Golf and Country Club on Saturday to raise funds for the Our Lady of Lourdes planned Washington, D.C., trip for 16 seventh- and eighth-graders.
Twelve four-person teams raised $2,400 in entry fees for the golf tournament fundraiser. Overall, $3,700 was raised toward the trip.
A prize raffle and dinner followed the play.
"I want to thank Mark Marshall for organizing this great raffle," Colusa's golf professional Rick Burgess said before announcing the winners of the tournament as participants ate dinner. Jake Cousineu, Matt Cousineau, Tad Tausher and Cody Beckley's team took first place.
This is the first year that the school has used a golf tournament to raise funds.
