Church News: Ladies Relief Society holds installation

The Catholic Ladies Relief Society of Colusa and Marysville held a joint installation in September at St. Bernadette's Hall. A luncheon followed the installation. Installing officers were Grand President Vicky Stegall, assisted by Grand Marshal Jan Caputo and Grand Musician Mary Overton. Vicky Stegall was installed as Grand President last May at the annual Grand Council of Catholic Ladies Relief Societies Convention held at Christ the King Retreat Center in Carmichael. The local group will be host to the Grand Council Convention next May at the same location, with Grand President Vicky Stegall installing all new grand officers at that time.

Newly elected officers who were installed for the local group are President, Susan Walsh; Senior Vice President, Marge Wallace; Junior Vice President, Gabreila Rone; Recording Secretary, MaryAnne LaGrande; Treasurer, Janita Smith; Financial Secretary, Eileen Davies; and Marshal, Barbara Reese. Board of Directors are: Bobbi Jo Seaver, Alma Hickel, and Alicia Mena; Appointed Officers are: Corresponding Secretary, Rose Buria; Assisting Guard, Mary Harper; and Musician and Parliamentarian, Mary Overton.

Newly elected president, Susan Walsh, conducted the Oct. 3 meeting. Members brought items for the annual Layette Shower, and these items will be given to the local hospitals for newborns. Several reports were given. Bernice Castro was initiated and welcomed to the local society as a new member. Hostesses for the evening were Rose Buria and Vicky Stegall.

Several members had attended the installations of other societies and are planning to attend two others. Grand President, Vicky Stegall will be installing officers for other society installations.
