Letter: Mother shows courage, love

The photo showed a woman of unusual courage and deep pride. I have had the great pleasure of meeting and speaking with this Lady after her son's death. I saw in her no regret or remorse. What I did see was a mother with deep love and great pride in her son and yes, a great sense of loss.

I offered my condolences and thanked her for her sacrifice and shared a tear with her in a quiet moment. This was a very moving moment for me as I shared in her loss. I came away from our meeting with a great sense of pride and a feeling of the closeness of family.

I admire this lady for the strength she has demonstrated through the most difficult of times.
