Report of the Catholic Ladies Relief Society

A large crowd attended the annual Christmas party of the Catholic Ladies Relief Society members. A beautiful array of hors d’oeuver’s provided by members was enjoyed by all attending. A holiday punch was also served by hostesses Cynthia White and Susan Walsh.

A short business meeting followed with President, Dianne Luoma presiding. Correspondence was read and the following announced were made:

Filling Christmas baskets at the fairgrounds will be December 12, 13 and 14 beginning at 9 a.m.

The annual Bridge-Whist luncheon and Card Party will be Saturday, January 19 at St. Bernadette’s Hall. Lunch will be at 11:30 a.m. and the fee is $15 a person. A door prize, raffle and prizes will be given for high scorers. Chairman for this activity is Alma Hickel. The “Day of Recollection,” which is a mini-retreat for all Catholic women will be held on Wednesday, February 13 at St. Bernadette’s Hall and Our lady of Lourdes Church. A luncheon will be served at noon that day. Rose Buria is Chairperson for the retreat and Bobbi Jo Seaver is Chairman of the Luncheon.

The 3rd Annual New Year’s Eve party will be at St. Bernadette’s Hall, beginning at 6:30 p.m. with a no-host cocktail hour and dinner at 8 p.m. Tickets are now available by contacting Our Lady of Lourdes School or Judi Rogers, Chairperson. “A night in Rome” is the theme for the celebration, tickets are available for anyone to purchase.

A Blood Drive was to be held at St. Bernadette’s Hall on December 9.

Several cheer cards had been sent to members and parishioners.

The next regular meeting will be will be Wednesday, January 2 with Eileen Davies and Barbara Reese as hostesses. The meeting will be At St. Bernadette’s Hall at 7 p.m.
