Letter: Those who litter will pay

I manage a business on the outskirts of Colusa, and my letter is to those who litter our highways and streets.

We work very hard to keep our property cleaned up, only to have people drive by and throw out hair nets, rubber gloves, fast-food containers, beer cans, water bottles, soda cans, etc.; and have tomato trucks filled with too full spilling tomatoes everywhere they go; and hay trucks losing hay everywhere they go because none of them have to tarp their loads. Why is it some do and some don't? It is just as nasty looking.

It is a wonder we haven't had a fire in the hay as we find cigarette butts in it when we clean up.

Maybe the next time you want to throw something out, you might want to ask yourself: If everyone on the highway threw out just what you are throwing out, what would our highways look like then?

Someday you will get caught and have to pay the price. Hopefully soon.
