Hefner-Tripp married

Heidi Lynn Hefner and Gregory Steven Tripp, both of Davis, were married at the R.H. Phillip’s Winery on August 11, 2007, in the Capay Valley with Rev. Wendy Komori-Stager officiating.

Heidi is the daughter of Susan K. Hefner and the late Lynn A. Hefner of Woodland. Heidi’s grandparents are Lucille Hefner and the late Donald R. Hefner, along with Bruce and Ginny Lay, and Ralph Burdick.

Greg is the son of Rev. Thomas and Debra Tripp of Colusa. Greg is the brother of Laura Tripp Ullrich (Doug Ullrich) and Peter Tripp. Greg’s grandparents are Marvin and Jeanette Tripp, along with Alexandra O’Keefe and the late William O’Keefe.

Heidi’s friend since childhood, Renee Robertson, was the maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Mandy Deal Kolb, Lauren Burdick, Kristin Licking, and the junior bridesmaids were Devin Dougherty and Mia Dougherty. The flower girl and ring bearer were twins Kyra and Reece Cartagena (the twins’ parents are Heidi’s cousins Robert and Tamara Cartagena).

Greg’s brother, Peter Tripp, was the best man. The groomsmen were Josh Landreth, John McCormack, Vishal Gupta, Joseph Bono and Doug Ullrich.

Around 240 guests attended their hilltop wedding ceremony, which overlooked the R.H. Phillip’s Winery vineyards, with music provided during the hilltop ceremony by the UC Davis String Quartet. Heidi’s uncle, Scott J. Hefner, who is her father’s twin brother, gave her away in marriage. A reception followed at the R.H. Phillip’s Winery indoor/outdoor event site with dinner prepared and served by Morrison’s Catering, along with music for dining and dancing presented by D.J. Rene Ortiz. Heidi’s aunt, Diane Hefner, designed and created their wedding invitations, wedding programs, along with all of their wedding flower arrangements.

Heidi graduated from Woodland High school in 1998 and earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from the University of California, Davis, in 2003. She went on to obtain her elementary teaching credential and master’s degree in education from the University of California, Davis, in 2005. Heidi works as an elementary school teacher in Arbuckle, Calif.

Greg graduated from Colusa High School in 200 and obtained his bachelor of arts degree in English along with his teaching credential from Yale University in 2004. Greg works as a web editor for Therapeutic Research Center in Stockton, Calif.

The couple first celebrated their marriage by enjoying a weekend stay at the Sonoma Mission Inn in Sonoma and later in November rejoiced with an extended honeymoon in Maui, Hawaii.
