Club Brief: Good Sam Club holds Shingletown outing
The Tri-County Sams Chapter of the Good Sam Club held a wonderful campout at the Shingletown KOA Campground in August with eight member rigs and two guest rigs in attendance.
Several rigs met for breakfast at the Cozy Diner in Red Bluff on Friday morning. Steve Simon of Los Molinos, who is the former wagon master of the North Sam Singles, met the group for breakfast.
On Friday night, the campground hosts provided an outdoor movie with popcorn for everyone to enjoy.
On Saturday morning, it held the usual "meet and greet" and enjoyed good food and conversation.
Several members attended the fun day at the Shingletown Fire Department and others enjoyed traveling around the area. In the afternoon, the hosts held an ice cream social for the entire campground.
On Saturday evening, group members held a baby back ribs barbecue potluck in the outdoors, with a meeting to follow.
Trail bosses were Darlene and Vic Dickison, who decorated the tables using baskets of sea shells, with sea shells spread down the middle of the tables and tea candles on teal colored dishes. Zip Lock bags of candy were placed at each place setting.
The group held a raffle on a large basket filled with barbecue items for our Charity Fund, with the winner being Sharon Furia of Orland.
Guests for the weekend were Ward Campbell of Red Bluff and Patti DelFraite.
On Sunday morning, the campground hosts held an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast for the entire campground at a very small fee.
The Sept. 13-15 campout will be held at the Trinity Lake KOA at Trinity Center with Sharon Furia as trail boss.
Anyone owning a self-contained recreational vehicle that would like to go on monthly campouts with a great small group of people are encouraged to call Wagon Master Lisa Sol at 385-1344 or President Richard Sol at 200-7403.
