Letter: Jail food not hospital's fault
Regarding the Colusa County Jail and meal service provided by the food service provider at Colusa Regional Medical Center, I would like to point out that although Colusa Regional Medical Center has contracted out the jail's food service needs, and that this contractor utilizes the kitchen area at the hospital, the contractor is solely responsible for the quality of the food and the service provided.
I sincerely hope that the county's contract does not involve the hospital as a middle man, seeing the hospital ceased to run their own food service many years ago.
Employees and patients alike are regularly disapointed by the quality of the food presented inside the hospital.
The feel I get from reading the article appears to place the responsibility on the hospital, not the contracted food service provider, and I feel this can be misleading to the residents of the county and put their community hospital in a bad light.
