Granzella's to host 'whodunit'

 

Granzella's Inn will host the murder mystery comedy "Death in the Dugout," at 6 p.m., Sept. 18, as a fundraiser for the Williams Little League. Tickets are $49 per person; $80 per couple, and includes dinner, drink and show. For information or tickets, contact Granzella's at 473-5014.

Hospital tees up golf tourney

Join the CRMC Foundation for its 19th annual Swing for Life Golf Tournament on Sept. 24 at the Colusa Golf and Country Club.

The tournament is looking for sponsors as well as players.

Boosters holding fundraiser

The Maxwell Blue and Gold Athletic Boosters have scheduled a dinner and raffle today at the Maxwell Legion Hall.

Tickets for the dinner are $25. All proceeds benefit the high school and junior high sports programs,.

A no-host social hour opens at 5:30, followed buy a 7 p.m. dinner and the raffle and auction.

The top raffle prize, for a $50 ticket, is an ATV. There are a host of other prizes as well.

Colusa SuperBooster passes are now on sale for the 2010-2011 season. For $100, you gain admission to all home games: Football, basketball, volleyball and wrestling. Also included is a SuperBooster T-shirt and entrance to the SuperBooster Reception at both the football and basketball homecoming games. Walk to raise money for Y.E.S.

Eleanor Azevedo Memorial Y.E.S. program will be hosting a "Recovery Walk" on Sept. 4.

Entry fee is $10 for single and $30 for family/group of four, with each additional person being $6. All proceeds from the walk will go to the Y.E.S. fund to help local children participate in activities which promote health and wellness.

September Substance Abuse Recovery month, and we would like to recognize all who are in recovery, give those struggling hope, and remember those who have lost their lives to addiction. Opening ceremonies will be at 10 a.m. at the memorial park corner of 10th and Market streets.

This is a non-competitive walk, and a family event. For more information, contact Terri Rivera, 458-0326, Ext. 109.

Annual demolition derby

The Colusa Firefighters Association will host its third annual Demolition Derby on Sept. 11 at the Colusa County Fairgrounds Grandstand, 1303 10th St., Colusa. Gates open at 5 p.m. and the derby starts at 7. Tickets are $10 for children 12 and under and $15 for adults. Bring a new, unwrapped toy for the Impact Toy Drive and save $5 off the admission fee at the time of purchase.

Tickets are available at the Colusa Fire Department, 750 Market St., or from any Colusa firefighter. Tickets will also be available at the gate. All proceeds go back into the community for scholarships, smoke detector program, etc.

Crawdad Festival closing in

The fifth annual Colusa Crawdad Festival, sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Council 2145, is scheduled for 1-10 p.m., Sept. 11, at the Colusa County Fairgrounds.

Admission is $10. Children under 10 are free. Proceeds go to support community events.
