Briefs: Sacred Heart card party set
The Sacred Hearts Sodality will hold a card party and luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in the multipurpose room of Maxwell Elementary School.
Card games include Bridge, Whist and Pinochle. High scores in each game earn prizes. Door and raffle prizes also will be handed out. The cost is $15.

The Yuba-Sutter-Colusa Employer Advisory Council is offering one adult and one youth scholarship in the amount of $1,000 each for applicants demonstrating potential entrepreneurial interest and rationale. Applications are due March 1.

Williams youth wrestling begins
The Williams Recreation Department is offering wrestling for seventh- and eighth-graders from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday through March 29 at the Old Gym, 1491 E St.
Wresting for kindergarten though sixth-grade will be held on the same time, days, and location Feb. 20 through March 29. The cost per child is $25.

Audition for stage play
The Stagehands will hold auditions for "Steel Magnolias" from 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Monday-Tuesday at the Stagehands Theater on the Colusa County Fairgrounds.

Valentine's event helps others
The Y.E.S. Program, Indigenous Circles United, and the Jordan Hillis Fund are sponsoring a night of romance on Feb. 14 at the Indigenous Circles United.
The event includes a three-course spaghetti dinner, entertainment, photos, and a silent auction. Dinner includes a bottle of sparkling cider, photo and center piece.
Proceeds support the various youth activities and efforts sponsored by these groups.
Tickets are $20 and $50 for a couple. A party table of eight is $285.
Indigenous Circles United is located at 650 Market St., next to Davison's Drug & Stationery.

Red Hot Gala Feb. 16
The Red Hot Gala, a chance to show off a favorite red dress, red shirt, or red tie, is a red carpet Hollywood-style event to raise awareness of heart disease, and to celebrate the cardiovascular team from Rideout Health, one of 73 hospitals nationwide to receive the Silver Performance Achievement Award.
A no-host social hour will begin at 6 p.m. on Feb. 16 at Colusa Casino Resort, 3770 Highway 45, Colusa, and will feature wine and chocolate tastings, souvenir photographs and Anthony Emmolo's Art for the Heart.
Dinner will be served at 7, with dancing to follow. Live music will be performed by the Jeff Poppinga Band.
All proceeds benefit the echocardiography equipment fund, a machine that delivers superior image quality.
