Briefs: Open house set for Jan. 12
The newly remodeled Williams Community Center will host an open house at 10 a.m. Jan. 12, 860 C St., Williams.
Refreshments and entertainment will be provided.
Big Bingo Bash in Williams
The Williams Community Center is hosting a Bingo Bash starting at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 14 at its new location on C Street.
The packet price is $20 with values for the extra packet ($5), special packet ($5), early birds ($4) and bonanza cards ($1).
The payouts are $50 for each regular game, with prizes of $75 for some specials and bonanzas, and $100 for a special-special game, and $250 for pick-em and some bonanza games.
Refreshments will be available.
The new center is located at 860 C St.
Photography classes offered
Colusa County Arts Council will hold photography classes, taught by Ulan Valusek, from 6-8 p.m. every Thursday evening.
The cost is $15 per month.
Students must bring a laptop computer with Photoshop Elements installed and digital photos they have taken.

Catholic Ladies dealing cards
The Catholic Ladies Relief Society will hold its luncheon and card party at 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 12 at St. Bernadette's Hall on Ware Avenue in Colusa.
The cost is $15. Door and raffle prizes will be awarded, as will prizes for the high scorers.
The chairwoman of the event is Gabriela Rone, with Vicky Stegall and Bobbi Jo Seaver serving as chairwomen of the luncheon.

CHP applications available
The California Highway Patrol will begin accepting applications for new officers in January, the first time in three years the agency has looked to hire.
Online applications will be accepted from Thursday-Saturday.
Candidates must be 20-35 years old, a US citizen, have no felony convictions and be a high school graduate. There are a variety of tests, including medical, and interviews that will follow.
