Joseph Jerome Mazak, Jr.

Joseph Jerome Mazak, Jr. of Colusa passed away September 21, 2008 at Colusa Regional Med. Center at the age of 52. He was born June 27, 1956 in Streator, IL. After high school, Joe entered the U.S. Marines and served 2 years. In Southern CA of 1980 he met his wife and in 1982 married. They began their family in Anaheim and then started heading north to Sacramento, Olivehurst and fi nally Colusa where they purchased their fi rst home. He moved to Colusa so he could be close to the rivers for fi shing. He is nicknamed by friends as “Sacramento Joe”. During these years Joe owned his own business in underground construction. He enjoyed Fishing, watching his son play sports and spending time with his granddaughter Taylor. Joe called Taylor “his best medicine for the battle”. He will be remembered as a strong man and fought a good battle. He is survived by his wife Linda Mazak of Colusa; daughters, Melissa Mazak of Rocklin and Jessica Mazak of Colusa; sons, Joseph M. Mazak and Matthew Mazak of Colusa; mother, Marjorie Mazak of Colusa; sister, Gina Flori of IL; brother, Monty Mazak of Il; granddaughter Taylor Webb of Rocklin, and his close friend Lisa Kenworthy of Yuba City. Proceeded in death by his father Joseph Mazak, Sr. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 3, 2008 beginning 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Colusa. 4th and Jay Streets, Colusa.
