Favorite aspect of the holiday season: I love being with my family and enjoy celebrating the birth of Christ — and lemon meringue pie.
How did you spend your Christmas: With 22 of our wonderfully big family, children and grandchildren.
Was Santa generous to you this year? Yes. I received a great new computer.
What was your favorite gift? I really enjoyed giving gifts to my family.
Do you make New Year's resolutions? No, but my wife made one for me this year: to lose weight.
Do you typically follow through with your New Year's resolutions? This time, I'm determined to because I have been mistaken for Santa Claus.
What are other goals for the upcoming year? I really want to be content with what the Lord has given me, read the Bible through again and spend more time fishing.
What was the best thing that happened to you in 2011? The best is yet to come.
What was the worst thing that happened to you in 2011? We lost our first great-grandbaby. Do you have any plans for New Year's Eve this year? Yes. We get together with our family and enjoy family food and fun games.
How did you ring in the new year in 2011? The same as this year, except family food, fun and fireworks.
What are you most thankful for? I'm most thankful for God's wonderful gift of salvation through the Lord Jesus and that our family is also following the Lord.
What do you hope to see happen this upcoming year? I would like to see our nation return to the principles of our founders and really become "one nation under God."
