Letter: Support law enforcement

I was recently on my daily lunchtime walk along the Colusa river park when I observed a group of young men involved in some kind of altercation. The fight continued and spilled into the middle of the street, actually blocking traffic.

Someone obviously called 911 at about that point because within what seemed like seconds four units of our city police and county Sheriff's Department swarmed onto the scene. From my view that stopped what could have ended in a terrible tragedy.

We need to remember how important our law enforcement agencies are to the safety and well-being of our community and be thankful they are there when we need them. The City Council and county supervisor candidates who are truly strong supporters of law enforcement will get my vote.
